I know that its incurable but are there any foods/suppliments (beside fish oils) that can help to reduce the pain or prevent it from getting worse.what foods can worsen the condition? Any suggestions would be appriciated.thanks...

are you talking of osteo or rheumatoid arthritis?
Glucosamine can help and also Honeygar ..but as these are are natural supplements they do take a while to kick in.
Look at your diet ,drink plenty of water ,above all keep moving.
Use a topical gel to rub into painful joints.

shaneystar is right, also avoid too much coffee and keep the affected joints mobile. Often heat pads or cold compresses (like a bag of frozen peas) can help, massages can be quite effective. If you have severe arthritis, there are neoprene braces that can also be of help. They keep the joints warm, increasing circulation to the muscles and reducing pain. I wear a magnetic bracelet. Dont know if its all in the mind but it works for me.
When rheumatoid and then secondary osteoarthritis have attacked your immune system ..believe me ..a magnetic bracelet is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.
PHYTORHUMA available from any health shop is excellent. Taking Devil`s Claw is also a great help. Any acidic foods can agravate the symptoms. I`ve had it for years & if my gp had had his way, I`d be on pain killers, which since using the phytorhuma & taking Devil`s Claw I`m not.
