I have today received an email from eBay stating that an item which I ordered a few days ago was delivered by Royal Mail four hours ago. It most certainly has not been delivered. It is definitely of a size (Large Letter) that would go through my letter box and in any case I have been in all day.
The eBay website Help pages aren't any help.
Can anyone give me a phone number on which I can talk to a real person to sort this out please?

You need to contact the seller - s/he is responsible for ensuring you get your parcel, or giving you a refund if it isn't delivered
Yes no need to speak to anyone. Just advise seller not received
It's the deliverer and/or the seller that you need to deal with.
Ask your postman he should know. I did once and he realised he must have put it in to a nearby neighbour who was on holiday.
This happened to me last week. What you do is contact the seller- there's a link on the page in your Purchase confirmation. It's not eBay's problem, they're only the platform. Contact the seller immediately and tell them that it hasn't arrived, despite RM notification - it's up to them to take it up with the delivery service.
The seller may have received notification of it being delivered. Did you get a photo of its delivery? Maybe the seller got a photo.
If the seller fails to sort the matter out, you can go on the help/contact on ebay and find the live chat box where you can ask for an eBay person to give you a call back. Whatever time of night they have rang me back within a minute and are very efficient.
