Microsoft Edge

I have a problem with Microsoft Edge, click on it but it won't open at all.
I run windows 10 a dell laptop. Any ideas what i can do to make this work.

it has opened but is taking a long time to do, something is slowing up my laptop,

I received a Windows update last night. Possibly your computer is downloading in the background, leaving you with little bandwidth for browsing until it's finished.

it wouldn't open at all. now it does but it's incredibly slow.

Open task manager and tell us the CPU and memory readings it is showing for Edge.
(Right click on taskbar at bottom of screen, click 'Task Manager')

sorry where do i find task manager -

Right click on any empty space in the bar at the bottom of the screen, where you clock is. Then click on 'task manager' in the menu that will open.

microsoft edge 2.8 percent.

Have you tried rebooting?

Looking at Task Manager again what are the two figures at the top for CPU and Memory?

i need to put this aside for now, as i am not sure what i am looking for/at,

At the top of the columns just above the words 'memory' and 'cpu' are the overall percentage figures. I'm trying to figure if something else is hogging all your computers resources.

cpu 2 memory 80 percent

That's quite high. Can you scroll down the column and see what is using up so much memory? I'm sure you realise it will have the highest figure :)
