For those interested, Retrocop was mentioned a few times on the 'Where are they now thread' wondering how he was. I had an old email address for him and sent him a message with fingers crossed. I happy to say I've received a reply to say he's well, happy and busy with his family. He asked me to pass on kind regards to everyone including his old crossword pals (Danny et al)

I liked retrocop and pleased he is well and happy.
I know why he was suspended .

It was a serious offence re the Site Rules

However anyone know why the suspension has lasted this long - is there a sliding scale depending on the seriousness of the offence ?

It's good when the news is positive for any well liked member who hasn't been seen in a while.

there are people who know the rules and should keep to them. not rocket science - boris are you listening

and there are free spirits ( comme moi) - who have hardly been caned at all !

Retro has asked me to pass on his appreciation for all your good wishes. A message for Danny ' Retro is highly elated the old clog dancer and whipped handler has still got a pulse and his marbles' he assures me you won't be offended.
Should that be 'whippet', Margo? :-)
:D

That's made me laugh, I really should learn to double check before I post:-)) Thanks Tilly you quite right should read Whippet.
I'm glad to know that he's OK.
I know these things Margo, being from up-North like.
i think he was a serial offender, which is why its lasted so long

Good job you spotted it Tilly :-)
Longer suspensions seem to be doled out to those who 'don't suffer fools gladly'.
I suppose that ultimately, it's up to the EDs how long a suspension lasts and if someone's has been overlooked and they want to return, a wee reminder to the EDs might jog their memories.
I think you better ask the ED on this site if they can include a memorial / missing person section in the categories. :))))))
awww good to know..Ta Margo xx
