Obtaining medical records

Am I entitled to obtain all my medical records from my Doctors who are refusing to pass on my records in pursuit of an accident claim. Does the Freedom of info. Act allow this?

How do the regulatory body, say the Law Society, or BMA know if one of their members has been convicted of a minor offence which didn't involve jail time. They are hardly going to tell their potential...
