2022 Toryies have lost around 500 seats and 11 councils.
which of those 2 years would you consider to be a "drubbing"? It speaks volumes that still Labour can barely lay a glove on the Tories, even mid term post crises. Labour are the ones that should be considering a new path.

You're right There was no drubbing. The limp lettuce leaf that is Starmer is useless. You say that Labour should consider a new path and, again, think you're right. But really can't see where Labour can go from here. Heading to the Left would be mad (Corbyn) and they can't move to the Centre, ground that is supposedly occupied by Starmer. The only way forward is a...

Many thanks for the lesson. You’ll do well to remember the same when you learn to spell opener correctly.
Take extreme care whilst ensconced in your glass house.
Whilst pondering my advice, would you care to answer the question you replied to without actually addressing the conundrum I posed?

I already answered it, neither party gate nor beer gate are resigning issues in themselves. However calling for someone to resign over an issue sort of puts you in the frame if you do that same thing yourself. Surely you can see that.
I do see that. So if Starmer resigns, Johnson ought to do the same?
He did after all make and break the rules he set himself.
Surely you can see that?
Question Author
no, if Johnson Calls on KS to resign then he will have to but he hasn't he's too smart for that. KS cooked his own goose by calling pon the PM to resign over party gate. If KS resigns it won't be over beer gate in itself it will be for calling on the PM to resign for a similar offence.
Such convolution.

Johnson obviously will not call for it, Starmer will do so out of a sense of duty and honour.
That’s where it’ll not register with Johnson as he is clearly devoid of both.
It’s almost moot anyway, if another FPN does not finish his tenure then I’m certain Gray The Full Monty will far outweigh the prequel.

dream on me old china, Boris ain't resigning over a non issue. End of.
Zzzzzz zzzzz yawn zzz
Question Author
oh dear, boot on the other foot is it gromit?
Question Author
look on the bright side gromit, you could have a new leader soon! GOAS perhaps!
We all know that these mid term council elections bear no relevance to what might happen at the next general election.

It's a protest vote, which is why the libdems and greens always do well.

Come the next vote that matters, everyone will revert to normal and vote against the party they want to keep out.
//neither party gate nor beer gate are resigning issues in themselves. However calling for someone to resign over an issue sort of puts you in the frame if you do that same thing yourself. Surely you can see that.//

I agree with TTT there. Starmer is a silly man who took great delight in quite relentlessly leading the charge against Boris, never thinking that he, himself, would be found out. All of that said, I see nothing rational whatsoever in condemning people for having a drink or something to eat with colleagues after working together all day. Frankly it's petty, it's spiteful, and it's potty. No one should be resigning - and although Boris has apologised (something Starmer has not done), he has, very wisely, never said he would. Starmer's one saving grace is that his departure will have no ill effect upon this country. He won’t be missed.
And lets not forget all the 'lies' over BeerGate.

Where are the left raising post after post about lies now?
Labour are the ones that should be considering a new path.'

I suspect they may well be.

And that is why the ~Tories need to raise the bar now. Johnson needs to get his act together and start looking after the UK population or move aside for someone else to do it.
The UK population may have to fend for itself while there are photo opportunities to the east.
//Johnson needs to get his act together and start looking after the UK population or move aside for someone else to do it. //

Who? Boris is a leader - he's proven that. Time this country stopped with all this nonsense and allowed him to get on with the job.
Naomi, you wont listen to what I say so not really much point in going on.

You are wrong though, you dont seem to understand the feeling of 'Middle England', you know the ones that make an election not the like of you and I who will always be Tory.
YMB, I am listening - and moreover watching - and I see that, not middle England, but northern England, the traditional stalwarts of Labour sadly disappointed the left's aspirations in the recent elections, so perhaps you need to broaden your horizons and consider that. It's all very well dismissing the current if you have a sound, workable notion of what is to follow but I don't think you - or anyone else who calls for Boris's head - does. I asked who you want to replace him - so who? Bearing in mind he did return an enormous majority - and make no mistake, those northerners didn't vote for the Conservatives or even for their local candidate - they voted for Boris - and that support appears, on the whole, to be consistent at the moment, who do you think would engender greater support and do a better job?
//I asked who you want to replace him - so who? //

I have to admit at the moment I dont know.

I favoured Rishi, but he has burnt his bridges.

Still, doesnt mean I have to settle for second best, the bar needs raising and if Johnson drops the net zero and listens then he will win. If he doesnt then he wont.

And BTW, I dont live in the North. Its Southerners who are not happy that I am hearing.

Perhaps your right, no one cares and Johnson goes on and wins and brings everyone down to walking and eating muesli to appease his wife. Time will tell.
