OK, this isn't a feminist rant and I don't want you men to get all haughty, but do you think that the world would be in the state it is now if women were the ones making the decisions? I mean, do you think we would approach things like conflict with more compassion? PLEASE no rants about Thatcher, we all know she wasn't really a human being...

LOL Bob, you're probably right too... And we'd scrap the taxes on chocolate for that matter ;o)

nah Bob make everyone eat chocolate whilst bombing everyone is more accurate
I think men are more logical than women. I find men a whole lot easier to get on with and reason with. There are some women I have had as bosses who have been utterly impossible- bitchy, rude, unprofessional, overly emotional.. Mainly menopausal thinking about it. I can't remember these women being compassionate. Not that I think men ARE, but surely it is down to the individual person?

Hmmm....interesting one this.If women ruled i can see that porn would be banned, soccer would be abolished and shopping trips made compulsry.Nope... the world would not be a better place
isn't this why female pilots are a rarity? PMS time would cause havoc with air traffic control ;o)

I wouldn't rant about Thatcher..I quite liked her!.
Oh can you just imagine the bitchiness at the G8 Summit???!!! "Oh my life, hasn't so&so piled the pounds on" and "What on earth is so&so wearing? Red is sooo not her colour" It would be a nightmare!!!x

I agree that women in power often develop a hard nose and an unpenetrable armour, (if we must, then Thatcher is the perfect example).

Hmm, I can see your point Scarlett, but some male bosses can be incredibly patronising/belittling sometimes! Fortunately all of my bosses have been female and they've been incredibly approachable and supportive. I guess we've proven that there's good and bad in both...

And ha-ha at the PMT jokes, I'd kinda braced myself for that :oD
Wizard, what makes you think we would ban footy? that's just swearing in my little world, don't do it again!!

And why would porn be banned...huh, huh?

I don't think it would make much difference.
You shouldn't have mentioned Mrs. Thatcher. It is conveniently forgotten now how amazingly popular and patriotic she was in her day. Now - utterly reviled (not by me!).
Not quite true, whiffey - Mrs T was indeed reviled in her day, but clearly she still appealed to a lot of people. The anti-Thatcherites were very vocal and often had public platforms in the shape of TV shows, comedy routines, so anti-Thatcher invective was rife, though it obviously had little effect at polling stations.

I have a theory that when the British have a strong-willed dictatorial leader we always moan about it - "He thinks he's President" "She's further right than Genghis Khan" etc - but secretly we like it. How else could Blair and Thatcher have won multiple terms? When you get a "nice bloke" like Major, we joke about him being the Grey Man and sling him out after one term.

I agree with Bill Clinton whe he said "People would rather have a leader who is strong and wrong than weak and right."
