In July i left the NHS to become selfemployed as a gardener. i love it, the only problem i have is that still after 3 months of doing it my hands still really ache all the time... My ring finger on my right hand has started to lock in a clenched position and in the morning it takes me ages for them to move easily, i'm only 33....!!!! Please help, all alternative styles are most welcome. Many thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like you need to relax your grip a bit while you are working, manual work like building or gardening takes a while to get used to, try moving your fingers a bit in the evenings when you get home, and take it easy, Ray

Thank you Ray, I'll definitely try that, taking out damson trees for a customer on Monday so will put it to the test, thanks again.
Try using PHYTORHUMA. It`s fantastic for all joint pains. You can get it from any health shop. I use it for hip pain & since using it, I`ve not had any pain in my hands either. I think that`s because I rub any remaining cream into my hands. I used to have terrible joint pains& had to stop knitting. I even had a job holding a pen sometimes.
katie, does the aching ease off on the weekends ? or maybe you are bdoing this work then as well.
I have been thinking about this katie, I am sure thats what it could be, could you take any rings off while working and say put them on a chain round your neck ?
