I had four kittens at Christmas and even adult cats can't resist a tree. They will climb it. so I found fixing it with clear fishing line to a couple of strong hooks in the wall behind it helped. I packed away all my lovely glass baubles too. Shatterproof is essential. Do not use the fine strands of tinsel that used to be called lametta they eat it, and you will find it coming out from little kitty bottoms usually with poo attached. All part of the fun of Christmas with kitties

That from very bitter experience and a vet bill! had to spend ages taking it all back off the tree
We had two cats many years ago.
In the middle of a big family Christmas dinner, they managed to fell the tree

Sounding good. Yes, tinsel of any kind is dangerous, a friend's cat ate some and unfortunately it didn't come out of her bottom. It got twisted inside and she died, very sad.
