I burnt my tongue yesterday, after I ate a piece of very hot fishcake.
Eating and drinking now is still painful and difficult.
I got to the point, where it too hot to sallow, as I didn't want to burn my throat, or burn my lips by spitting it out.
I tried some toast this morning, bot it was like eating sand paper.
What can I due to ease the pain ?

I'll have to go and get started (housework) but I want to say there's nothing like biting your tongue - unreal for me.
As advised, the tongue is one of the quickest healing parts of the body, so it should be back to normal in a couple of days.

If it happens again, to avoid burning your lips by spitting out the hot food, simply open your mouth wide and lean over your plate with your head tipped forward, gravity will allow the food to fall on your plate without touching you lips.

Not elegant, but who needs additional pain in order to be polite!!
