For the last couple of weeks half of my tongue, the half towards to tip, feels like it is burnt. I cannot taste anything there and it has cracks in it when I pull it open, so to speak. Sorry it sounds gross. I do not remember eating anything that would have burnt it, anyway, normally that clears up in a day or two. It is a reddish colour. Any ideas ?

I think I'd be seeing doc.
Sounds like you speak with forked tongue.
In your shoes I'd definitely see my GP.
No big deal.
Probably the commonest cause is a vitamin deficiency....anemia or something similar.
Of course you are not a smoker.......NO!
See you GP at your leisure.
Could be oral thrush, go and stick it out at a pharmacist and they will give you some Daktarin or similar to put on it or advise you to see a doctor.

I like a glass of vino blanco though Sqad, but now I can't tell the difference between a Verdejo or Savignon
As long as your white wine is an Albarino rias baixas is doesn't matter what the grape.
It was that pizza the other day that burnt it.

Can't taste it though Sqad. If there is no improvement by Friday I will pop into my GP and see what she says. I will ask her for blood test as you suggested I could have some deficiency. I will tell her you told me to check.
