Just watched Last Night of the Proms. I can't sing but I did! Good job OH is deaf.
It gets to me every year, always find it emotional. Reminds me of an old friend who died, who I would phone afterwards and relive it.

Thoroughly enjoyed it too. You can't beat a bit of pomp and I love Benjamin Brittens setting of the national anthem.

I can't imagine why anyone was watching Last Night of the Proms yesterday when there was a record-breaking and utterly entrancing tennis match to watch.

The proms to me is a gathering of the Bourgie with only three songs worth listening to.

It may surprise others to know that some of us watched neither programme - I am over the moon at Emma's success but don't follow or watch tennis - equally I love the spectacle of the Proms but didn't watch this year.

i was flicking between both - everytime i turned over she'd lose a game, so i mainly watched the proms to give her a chance!

The Proms started at 7:45 on BBC2 and finished at 10:20 on BBC1.
