On the news, the group of islands Ibiza belongs to has been referred to as the ba lee A ricks, if that makes sense, whereas I thought it was called the ba LEER icks.
How do you pronounce it?

oof hand - they turned out slingers - - sling-shots of the world, and I think Hannibal had them on board wiv da elephants of course

yeah foo - so that Minorca turned out slinger wiv stone bullets and Majorca they threw cannon balls -

ballo - balo - ebalon - is greek for throw
I am sure Latin has a cognate - ask Boris

you knew that - and you were really wondering about eye-beethuh, innit?
It's in Spanish it's pronounced ba lee are icks so they are probably trying to be more authentic than us lazy brits who say ba leer icks. Same as their islands, Majorca in Spain is said my orca where we tend to say ma yorca and not that many years ago we called it Majorca with the hard J! Remember 'the water in Majorca' :-) Ibiza also should be said ee beetha and note eye beetha like wot we do.
Baleairix and I have always pronounced Ibiza as Eebeetha.
It is all a load of pony ;)
Balearics (ˌbælɪˈærɪks)

well this has - bally - arricks - - Paree is Paree in French and I suggest what the pie-eller eaters say is irrelevant

I mean Madrid - is Madree or Madreeth innit?
bally - as in men in tights
bally difficult innit
