that's happened to a lot of names, Ellipsis, especially in the US (I don't know if AMARIE is American). Blair, Sydney, Ashley, Hilary...

I studied at Avery hill college...I would cringe at the use of the name Avery.....I do like Evangeline ..... nice victorian name but probably would have hated having such a long name.

Avery reminds me of birds, I like it. Rosalie could be Rosie. Not keen on Evangeline... too evangelist...

Evangeline just brings to mind a very old lady. Of a similar type to Hinge and Bracket (you’re too young to know who they are).

I can imagined Evangeline being shortened to Jelly by school friends. I agree it is far too long and evangelical. I know Rosalie. She's a vicar and lovely.

I love old fashioned names Pasta, but not Evangelina. I have this vision of this strict old lady in a black outfit complete with hat standing at the church door.
