Talking of scams ?
My daughter has booked a villa in Mijas for mid September , you could cancel right up till the day before travelling ( if they can't) this was advertised through Airbnb, she's paid £1700 which is half the amount ,she received an email purporting to be from the owner which she said was very disjointed and alarm bells rang so she contacted Airbnb who told her 'he'd' been removed, thankfully the money would go to them as a host for the said Villa so she will get it back,
Theses Scammers walk amongst us , be very vigilant

It's not just foreign villas and AirB&B. Scammers have been advertising caravans and lodges sited in well known and popular UK holiday parks and pocketing the cash. They just lift the adverts from legitimate sites and post them on FB and other websites. AirB&B is perfectly safe if you use it properly and don't try to save money by doing side deals off site.

The email just reads if it's been written by someone for whom English is not their first language.

Now where's that grey goose bottle :0)))
So if this is the owner and he's now been removed by AirBnB from their site, how can his villa still be used?
Question Author
I don't think he was the owner Pix but then I don't know how scammers work

Hey Bobbs, your daughter should've smelled a rat with a website called imascammer.com. :0)

Seriously though, thanks for the warning. There are indeed many low-lives out there.

Yeah WW, thank you
With everything that is going on or not going on - end of lockdown or not - I wouldn't book a thing abroad.

Bobbs - your daughter needs to hold on to her well earned money until she has complete security with holidays maybe for 2022 unfortunately.

You been on the sat night pop again. Bobbi

Bobbie, I know you have had enough of this, but just to say your daughter is not alone. She at least recognised the scam.

I used airb&b in LA, LV & Malibu last year. All lovely homes & fairly priced.
