I have been wearing masks all along but decided to buy a cheap visor to see if I would prefer that. It was too foggy - I mean just putting it on - I couldn't see through it - yes I cleaned it.

If I bought a more expensive one - would that be better?

Try using washing up liquid to clean it JJ then rinse thoroughly in cold water , wiping with kitchen roll to dry , where did you get it? I've got one I got off my daughter from her work and don't have any bother with it
I thought I read somewhere that those visors were no good on their own that they needed a mask as well.

yes I heard that visors on their own are not great but they are using them in my local Spar, some wear visors, others wear masks.

Even tho we do have to wear them - I hate them on my face.
Try the disposable ones I find them easier to wear
Hi Jenny. Don't forget that it's not a good idea to wear visors instead of a mask.

Government advice:. Face visors or shields
A face visor or shield may be worn in addition to a face covering but not instead of one. This is because face visors or shields do not adequately cover the nose and mouth.

have tried them all - disposable, washable the heap - after being on my face - I feel I can't breathe easily. I'm just glad I do not enjoy retail therapy (not that there is much right now)
Have you checked that it hasn't got a piece of film over the front of it , I found mine was very foggy and then discovered it had a film to protect the surface, much better once I had removed it.
Yes. Same as olivia say's. Had mine like that at work for a few days before someone pointed it out.

Yes cover was removed
Never had to use mine yet as I haven't left the house for 5 weeks now x
I have worn a visor all the time when required and don’t have any problems with seeing through mine or breathing with it on. The plastic does have a life span though, as it can get scratched and needs to be treated carefully, so I am on my second visor. This one is still OK as I am more careful with it. As to the wearing a mask as well, I have been accepted everywhere wearing my visor without one including GP surgery, dentist, shops and buses. I bought mine online and they come with the plastic visor protected by packaging.
Yes as mentioned by another person, they do have a thin film over them, it’s very hard to see it. I made that mistake until I took it off.
This 'thin film', it's not the Dustin Hoffman classic, Outbreak is it?
