Yes, I've read that it's possible that, although the vaccine may prevent you from getting sick, it may not prevent you from transmitting the virus to others.

Also, the vaccine also isn't 100% effective, I'm vulnerable anyway and it seems to be a bit of an unknown how effective the vaccines may be in people with compromised immune systems.

Also, as others have said you need to wear them in certain places. It's may well be a better blanket policy, save medical exemptions, than adding in whether people have been vaccinated or not, as that is another complication for staff trying to monitor compliance where masks are to be worn. So I'd still be happy to wear a mask where required, shops, public transport, medical appointments etc...
//So, you decide.//

You're not allowed to decide (unless you want to risk criminal sanctions should you decide against wearing one).
Of course I would wear one, in places where it is required.

The vaccine isn't proved to be perfect or long lasting.
Yes, I'd still wear one, you're still not covid free when you have the vaccination, you can still pass it on.
Yes, until it is safe to go out without one, which won't be for quite a while yet ,I think.
You're right, Sparkles. It will be a long time partly because of those who refuse to wear masks.
If wearing a mask stops other people coughing and sneezing over me then yes I want them to wear a mask and for the same reasons I will continue to wear one. If it stops them from infecting any goods I might buy then good. I don't believe they don't help. I think people who deny it have got it all wrong and have read and believed the wrong reports.
If masks don't work why do surgeons wear them?
// If wearing a mask stops other people coughing and sneezing over me then yes I want them to wear a mask and for the same reasons I will continue to wear one.//

This is often quoted during debates on face coverings. So let me ask you, Lady J, Just how many people do you get coughing and sneezing over you during, say, a normal month? I must say that during my lifetime I cannot recall anybody ever coughing and sneezing over me outside of home and much of my life has been spent travelling and commuting regularly on trains, buses and underground systems. The only time I can recall it was when my young sister was very young and she would do so occasionally if I was near her.

Masks work if they are made of the right material and are worn and used correctly. Surgeons wear medical grade masks; other people were specifically asked not to try to buy them and many of the masks on sale are single pieces of cloth. Surgeons are trained in their use, how to put them on and take them off without the danger of self-contamination, how long to use them for, what to do with them when they are not in use and how to dispose of them; other people, if they bother at all, pick up a few snippets from “The Sun” or “The Daily Telegraph”. Surgeons are disciplined in their use and adhere to all the guidance above; others are not. They wear them round their chin, they stuff them in their pockets when they get off the bus, they constantly pull them up and down with their (possibly) contaminated hands. So apart from masks and other face coverings used by other people probably being of little use, any benefits they may provide are outweighed by the strong likelihood of the user contaminating himself.
yes i would, many places you have to wear one, like boots the chemists
NJ all very true.
I was all for masks some time back but as above the way some are using them can't be effective. When out and about I've seen many holding them in the palm of their hand, while text messaging, rubbing the mask all over the phone buttons?
Ummm, they don't wear ill-fitting face coverings, they wear properly fitted actual masks.
But, I will continue to wear mine as long as required. Hopefully, at some point, we won't need to. But I doubt that will be until most people are vaccinated.

This pandemic is not just about YOU, as it also involves the habits of 60million other people who reside in the UK who may not share your experiences and may not be as fastidious as you.
Is this supposed to be a serious question?
I think Cressida Dick had a point last week with her remarks.

Never picked up a cold or flu from anyone judge? You dont always feel the spray in your face when your talking to someone or when they cough or sneeze near you but your still in the firing line
I wouldn't want a surgeon operating on me without a mask, he may dribble or sweat into my open cavity.
Yes you still after after a vaccine until guidance changes ....
