covid rules are so all over the shop
m&s shop floor staff say they don't have to wear them even though there walking round .. all morrisons shop floor staff are wearing then except those behind the screens.. bar and pubs near me... in one they take you details at the door some don't bother at all with details or how many are going in some are saying just sign the book as you go in leaving it open for all and sundry to see other people details such as phone numbers which is illegal to have it open !
only 80% i would say the malls are wearing them ,as far as tomorrow goes well a spokesman for a police force said that breaking covid rules comes last on their list of priorities, and with such a shortage of police,i don't think many arrest will be made if the rules are broken

Breach of Covid rules is not an arrestable offence on its own.
An Answerbank spokesman for the government will be along to chide you and set you straight in a moment.

It's for your own good y'know. :-)
They will issue fines, I should imagine any arrests would only arise if there's also trouble involved.

I don't want the Police to prioritise policing these rules above solving crimes.
Lots of parties broken up last night. The message has been sent out in some forces- zero tolerance for blatant breaches such as house parties of 30, wedding parties of 100. But smaller gatherings of 7 or 8 will be very low on the list of priorities and police will politely fob off neighbours who report them. Councils are also taking a tougher line- closing pubs who are not Covid safe or recording details properly. The governemnt know we are at a critical point and unless the measures work they'll have to shut pubs etc again, close schools/universities again and return to lockdowns or at least lots of very localised strict lockdowns
Gatherings of 6? Wheres that number been plucked from?
Why not 5 or 7? Or 4 or 10?
Oh yeah! Out of thin air...
Why have the government decided to wait until Monday to bring in these new rules/regulations/laws? Are they so stupid not to realise that so many people would be going bonkers over the weekend?
^ Yes, I'm afraid they are stupid !
The result of the power mad Johnson, who's become a Covid Canute.

Infections rising, deathe rates down to miniscule figures. What does that tell you? That CV-19 is not now the killer that it was.

Police officers were walking round ASDA in Rochdale on Friday checking that shoppers were wearing masks. Must have been a slack day for crime reports as they had nothing else to do.
I think it’s one if those things where you have to not look too closely at the ridiculousness of the small print and see the bigger picture from a distance. I’m slightly surprised at the fuss the six people rule had caused. Compared to the threat of locking everyone down again it’s pretty innocuous. If the close schools again I’ll be on the streets :-)

As I posted elsewhere by mistake (I think)
I don’t believe there is any excuse for another lockdown. Israel has done it apparently.

You cannot lockdown the thing out of existence unless you literally stop everyone leaving home. Last time it was to stop the NHS being overwhelmed but that surely must be a one-off. I can see why it’s not been explicitly ruled out however.
But compared to returning to normal and no longer dictating to the public on matters it should be keeping out of, it is very far from innocuous.
Have people really been having groups of six or more in their houses on a regular basis?
I think it does show patience is wearing very thin tho
Actually I see in Israel it’s threatening to bring down the government ...
//have people really been having groups of six or more in their houses on a regular basis?//
Me and my son regular have more than six in my home at the weekend. Its like Crewe Station at times.
He has his girlfriend over plus her friends and my own friends over as well.
Which one shall I tell not to visit?
not really an issue for me as 6 in my home these days is not often,,but with caveat I have had COVID and it IS nasty..not yet over it proper.. .so PLEASE TAKE GOOD CARE XX
I got on the bus the other day and I was the only person wearing a mask. And even tho it says by doors that you will not be allowed on without a mask the drivers aren’t saying a word.
The reason I’m a bit surprised is because it was the rule for ages that you couldn’t have visitors. Then it all got very complicated. First time round there was less moaning.
I don’t blame people for being fed up tho
Drivers are paid to drive, Smowball, not act as proxy police for a government who want law and order on the cheap.

Especially the extra 20,000 or whatever fantasy number it is this week.
With a clown in charge, you're bound to get a circus.
