It's a long time since I've been there but it's a very pleasant little town, that's popular with tourists.

Isn't there also Hay-on -Wye, famous for its many bookshops?
Is that the place with the viewing platform to observe p.falcons?
Many a happy time visiting Ross-on-Wye and surrounding area - long while ago though.
Ross-on-Wye is a pleasant little town but traffic and parking can be a bit of a problem. Hay-on-Wye is pretty much the same but not really a place to go unless you like books. I like them both.
Richard Hammond lives nearby
I was there yesterday. They have a good Morrisons store and an Aldi. We go maybe a couple of times a month.
Drove through / or past it once on my way to a family do ( 90th birthday ), to a very tiny hamlet ( literally about 8 houses and a pub ) in the middle of nowhere ) single track lanes like in parts of Devon and Cornwall . Gawd know's how that lot get on in a proper snowy winter ( ( was summertime when I went ) without a tractor or a Land Rover.
nice town with lots of parking just on the edge of town down by the river and cheap parking also
I loved the West Country and the Welsh borders. My father hailed from Worcester but since the last of the family died off I have had no reason to visit again. I still have very happy memories of the area.
