I belive it is the dehydration that alcohol causes (it is a diuretic) but im pretty sure some of the other chemicals in the drinks also cause the problems. Im sure theprof will let us know for sure.
you're not adding enough diet pepsi to the vodka, I think that is the key, I do get a bad head with a black russian though, not that I knowingly drink them, sometimes I don't realise my bloke has added the Tia Maria.
Hi 4get,

Birt is correct. If you steeled yourself to drink lots of water, after alcohol or before retiring, you would notice quite a difference to how you felt. If waking during the night, drink more water. In the morning, after you awake - drink more water.

I have never had a hangover (maybe I'm just lucky - who knows), but no matter how much I have drunk, I always drink lots of water. I'm partial to red wine, which in itself can dehydrate your system, so I always try to drink water during the red wine consumption too!

Who's saying I get hangovers?? I'm not asking how to steer clear I just wondered what caused them :-)
Oops sorry 4get !!

Didn't mean anything by it - just put 2 + 2 together and made 5, as usual !! Lol :( or :) take your pick...
Hi, it is a lot to do with dehydration. The headaches appear due to the swelling of the brain from dehydration. I always find taking a re-hydration sachet the next morning realy helps as does drinking a pint of water before going to bed!
oooh you do get hangovers!!! You just stay in bed and sleep them off til the afternoon :)

Its dehyration sis, on the days i forget to drink water before bed its always worse the next day.

Still ok to babysit tomorrow?

yer but I meant my question was nothing to do with me. I havent had one for ages because I havent drank for ages. And yes he better be ready for me. :-)
oh yes hes practising his clinginess today in readiness. he made a friend yesterday, sat chatting to a fly for ages lol
Nothing to do with dehydration those headaches. It's the hangover demon who sits waiting for you to wake up. Then *BANG* clouts you round the head with a saucepan.
It's more likely a consequence of your drunken antics from the night before. Falling of table tops and cartwheeling down your local High Street may seem fine at the time, but you always pay the next day. Not only do I have headaches but I usually wake up with unexplained bruising...
dehydration - your brain shrinks slightly and the nerve that are attached to your brain and skull are stretched.... this is the pain you feel when hungover
Crikey, how many more are gonna say dehydration? lol

Babysitting for your big sister, causes a pain - but I'm not at liberty to say where!! LOL ;o)

ONLY JOKING !!!

N00dles,
