And if they have one...out they go.
They are also doing checks on staff. OTT...or sensible precautions?

I heard they were doing that at a bingo hall locally. OTT and inappropriate, people could have a temperature for a non CV reason couldnt they.
I think life should go on normal, have no shut downs, less panic.
Why not, Won't do any harm. As long as they clean the thermometer and don't ask you to bend over.
Sensible precaution
Got them in the paper didn't it?
I'd take the temperature of their food, and if too low I wouldn't pay
Moving on, company policy is constantly evolving and as such patrons wishing to use the disabled toilets will be required to prove their entitlement to a completely unqualified yet haughty member of staff.
Where do you live, Braniac?
It would seem to be a sound commercial decision to me. They're saying to potential customers "We've tested our staff and we've tested our other customers too, so there's no reason to avoid eating here today".

As Maydup says, someone could have a high temperature due to something other than Covid-19 but, if they seek advice from NHS 111, they'll still be advised to self-isolate anyway (on the principle of 'better safe than sorry'), so the restaurant and bingo hall aren't going beyond the standard advice.

I'm currently checking my own temperature every few hours and it's hardly a great inconvenience. I'm happy to do it. (That's got bothing to do with Covid-19, BTW. It's routine for anyone who is, like me, on chemotherapy).
Punching the air here.
Aww, didn't know you were ill, chris. All the best.
Thanks, Spicerack.
Yes, you look after yourself Chris.
I didnt realise you were having that treatment, Buen. All the best x
