anything to stop cats or birds getting at them?
Any frogs around they will eat anything they can swallow.
Herons often take fish from garden ponds. Netting over the pond could be a solution.
What can get under a deck ? A cat maybe ?
(Unless you added a piranha recently.)
Rats, foxes, crows and magpies surprisingly enough magpies just can't resist small shiny things. Net it or set up a trail camera....
do you mean under a deck? surely it would be very dark under there?....or do you mean its on a deck under a roof?

Well here in our village we have an otter that has emptied just about every flaming pond. It came last year and we re-stocked but it's been back and our pond is now empty once again. It's been clearly seen on neighbours video night camera, beautiful creature, but poor old fish:-((
