Have been in isolation for a while now, no plans to going anywhere except local shop for essential shopping.
Problem being that if those 'idiots' in Richmond Park - and everywhere else - do NOT catch the virus, they will say they were right all along. So I kinda hope that one or two of them do catch it. :-/
I heard on the radio that they are closing Hyde Park today because there were loads of people there yesterday, sunbathing etc.
They may not catch it, or they may not show symptoms and spread it. It’s not as simple as showing symptoms.
Wow, I agree with diddly !!!

And for those saying a walk in the countryside is better, the problem, apart from the travelling as pointed out above is that if everyone does it then it becomes crowded. It is not crowded because the majority abide by the rules, therefore making those that dont selfish.

For the minute why cant people just go with it for a couple of weeks. As many of you must know by now I am sceptical about the usefulness of lockdown (Apart from de-stressing the health service)but I am still going to abide by it and ther is a lovely sandy beach within walking distance of my home.
With you on that one Ken.
A shame you're sceptical, but I suppose it's understandable. Still, it's heartening to see someone refuse to turn scepticism into a refusal to comply. So thanks for that :)
Ymb, I thought the main point of lockdown was to spread out the people needing intensive care at the same time, while protecting those who may not recover.
Jim, its simply because I cant see it going totally away because of loackdown. And if it is ANYWHERE then it will all start up again if communities not have sufficient immunity to it.

Still, we are trying this way so lets see if it works.

Note, I am sceptical but not a denier.
Yes, pixie, that is what I wrote (See de-stressing health care), however I do thing it is hammer to crack a nut in some ways.

Happy to be proved wrong, I just want it over !
I really don't think that's the aim, ymb..we need people to get it too... I believed the process now is to control the numbers at any one time.
Apologies, I did see that, I just read it more as side-effect, where I thought that was the actual point.
I agree Pixie, in the absence of a vaccine people have to get it or it will just flare up again
I think so... x
‘ we need people to get it’

The thought was that We need the right people to get it to provide a group of immunity, but the recent deaths of young people without any underlying medical conditions has cast a lot of doubt on this. The virus is indiscriminate making the wish for a group of the right people who are immune unrealistic.
Let's hope not... it will be the only real way for general immunity. It is awful that young people are dying as well... do you know whether the PMs are also showing no undiagnosed conditions?
Unfortunately, people of any age, do also suddenly die for no reason. And there is a difference of dying "with" something, or "from" something. Even if we may not know what it is.
‘ it will be the only real way for general immunity’

But I’ve just demonstrated why that’s no longer a feasible approach. I understand what you’re saying about dying with the disease rather than from it but, again, this is irrelevant. The young people have died because they had Covid-19, not from anything else.
It must be true if it's in AB Towers - th'old folks home of tinternet. Some people accept most things they read on here. I'm not too sure about some aspects of AB. For instance, I honestly believe that one user of this website is actually AB Editor. How can I prove it? I can't. How can that user disprove it? They can't either. They can deny it and pour out the usual ridicule at the mere thought, but, who is it? That should keep you busy for a while.
diddlydo, you haven't thought this through, have you.
Clarion certainly at least one mod is.
