Yes, Anne, I've always froze milk and bread. The only thing I stocked up on is cereal so people can have a snack without going through the freezer and defrosting stuff. Besides that I've shopped as normal. I haven't panic bought anything.
Anne...it depends how many people live in a house. I have 6 adults, a loaf of bread won't last long, eggs, milk...and then I have a greedy cat who is going through loads of food.
Ummm, your situation is different to a household where maybe only 2 adults . Bread/ milk can be refrigerated for a good few days. Most people have freezers. Each time you leave your home you are at risk .
Anne, Bread and milk are rationed in most shops so no one can go in and buy 7 loaves of bread to freeze for the week. If you have a house full of adults to feed a 'normal' family shop might only last a couple of days.

There are times I'm grateful that bread is something I don't eat, nor do I smoke.
Though I'm preparing to make a loaf that's basically seeds with a bit of porridge oats thrown in.
That'll keep me busy for ages...making and chewing;)
