Oh yes, way to go!

Wonder what the reaction would be if we walked into one with that one?
Where can I buy a couple? ;)
Don't use them. Take the next exit and find somewhere safer to eat.
the black lagoon, probably

Rarely if ever eat there, Tilly, but do need to use the facilities on a regular basis.
Rigorous hand washing is always done, and they don’t usually have doors which need opening to exit the facilities but the doors into the service stations almost always need to be opened using the handle.
And often there are coach loads of foreign tourists there too.
Rubber gloves? Full rubber suit as in jno’s link? Any other suggestions??
Take sandwiches and a flask and sit in the car park.

It’s not the eating, it’s using the loos, can’t really do that in the car park :/
Have plenty of tissues to hold door handles. Don't use the hand dryer, use your tissues instead.
If you're male, a few empty bottles with a lid.
If female, a funnel and a few empty bottles with a lid.

If either, always use hand gel/wipes afterwards.

Can't help with anything for a solid problem :-)
I liked the US senator who warned people not to touch their own faces, and then licked her finger to turn the page of her speech :)

yeah I was gonna say - well dont go into them !
It's usually quite easy to pull a sleeve down to cover your hand...I always have done in public toilets. (Short sleeves in summer - tissues)
But then the germs are on your sleeve! Even before Covid, I always used my little finger at the very bottom of the handle to open the exit door on the basis that most/all people grab the middle of the handle.
^^yes, but I don't put my sleeve in my mouth or touch my face with it.
Does anyone really know how long the virus survives on fabric???
If they aren't sold out,get some disposable latex gloves or check disability aid sites for door handle and door knob openers for those with poor dexterity.
^^not nearly as long as it does on your little finger!
(Lots of microbiology in my working life!)
