Sally passed away in the early hours of this morning. I expected it sooner rather than later, but felt so scared last night when I knew she was hours away from dying.
Run free my gorgeous girl...have lots of zoomies in heaven.

Pasta, I do my food shopping on line and EVERY time I place and order now, I get a reminder that I've forgotten the cat food and dog treats etc. Six months on and they're still doing it!! Argggh!!
LOL Zacs. Smart dogs Collies, will you get another? I am in the process of getting one to suit me, in other words one as knackered as I am.
♥♥ from me and Frankie ♥♥
Oh no! So sorry to hear this Pasta and Zacs. My condolences to both of you xx
I found this a huge comfort when my beloved German Shepherd died.

A dog's prayer

To Those Who Love & Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go-
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have each shown.
But now it is time I travelled alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust,
It is only for a while that we must part,
So bless the memories within your heart,
I will not be far away, for life goes on,
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can not see or touch me, I will be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I will greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home".

Oh dear Tilly...I can't read for the tears in my eyes..x
I know, Pasta. I was the same.
I am so very sorry for your loss, pasta. So many here will understand what you are going through and to have lost 2 in 5 weeks is especially upsetting. I believe you were a good "mum" to your beloved pets and hopeyou can get somethig from that. Sighthounds are beautiful ♥

Zacsmaster, sorry to read you have lost your dog too :(

This morning I went out for my usual walk...without Sally. It was hard not having her by my side, but I decided that continuing these walks will be good for me...both physically and mentally.
I saw some people I know and had to tell them my sad news...that will be the first of many, I know. But I'm a firm believer in talking about whatever is causing pain...it helps to get it out.

So glad you kept your routine, and walking is great time for thinking and remembering too.x
Arh Pasta, I’m so sorry to be reading this, losing a pet is very traumatic, thinking of you and sending my very best wishes x

Thank you Bobbi...when I went out, I just wanted to cuddle every dog I saw.
Pasta and Zacs. I'm so so sorry. Xx
Cherish the wonderful memories, if you are not wanting to take on another one just yet, but want to keep on walking how about offering to walk dogs at your local rescue centre? You never know one might just find its way into your heart.
