Wow, it's changed my opinion. I now think he did have something to do with it. The police admit to messing up at the time and losing vital evidence. Also, could they not get DNA from Stuart Lubock, i.e. semen samples as he apparently was raped ?? DNA wasn't mentioned at all, which I find odd. What do others think ?

Not run off and leave a dead guest lying in your swimming pool might be one?

tambourine - // Surely homos know if a man is hetro by their actions & physiology. //

I am unsure how 'physiology' comes into the argument, but yes, clearly, any gay person will be aware if another person is heterosexual, it's not hard to read basic body language between adults.

But your inference may be that a gay man, or men, have assaulted Mr Lubbock knowing him to be heterosexual.

I would suggest that sexuality did not play a part in this situation - violent assault with an object as in this situation, is to do with violence, not sexuality.
Andy, why would a man *** assault another with a weapon rather than sexually?
an ally
> bring back homophobia

Is that supposed to be a joke?!
tambourine - // Andy, why would a man *** assault another with a weapon rather than sexually? //

Are the stars to indicate that you believe that a gay man is not a 'man' in the accepted sense of the word? If so, you are letting your stereotypical prejudices get in the way of your point.

The fact is, if any man, gay or straight, assaults another person with a blunt object, it's because his mind is on violence, not sex.
Ellipsis - // > bring back homophobia

Is that supposed to be a joke?! //

Sadly, I don't think it is.
// I think the documentary infer (red) that Barrymore knows more about what happened than he has said.//

I saw him in his last panto before he made it (Wolverhampton 1983 ) no really Buttons
and he was OK

gottle of geer gottle of geer - if there is a dead body in your pool l(ots of DNA there but I am not sure what good it would do) then I think you keep your mouf shut.

there were also drugs which is an excellent reason to keep mum
I watched it. I'm convinced that all the attendees at that party know exactly what happened and know that if they all keep quiet, or say as little as possible, then without any forensics, DNA or material evidence, the police cannot prove anything. And that is a damning indictment of them all.
// The fact is, if any man, gay or straight, assaults another person with a blunt object, it's because his mind is on violence, not sex.//

erm nope - R v Brown 1996 disproves that
the car jack case - actually the case is about whether you can consent to GBH ( no - hence no defence of consent ) and it was all to do with sex
// And that is a damning indictment of them all.//

nope - I had a tenant who was a drug dealer ( no hope of eviction on that grounds alone) and the police were most interested in whether he paid cash rent
yes money laundering ( me that is)
it somewhat blunted any inclination to assist
Yes Peter, but I'm sure that wouldn't have been too difficult for the police to find out, even without your
co-operation, if they had the inclination.
// The police seem to think he was raped and murdered in the jacuzzi and then thrown in the pool to look//

erm there are straightforward post mortem signs of this dating from the 1800s
if he drowned there would be water in the lungs
and if he were thrown in post mortem there wouldnt

and that is doctors (pathologists) and cutty-cutty
nothing to do with securing this and that site

I agree he cd almost be murdered in the jacuzzi and then thrown in and drowned
Yes the programme did raise a lot of questions and didn't show Barrymore in a very good light. The other person who made my skin crawl was the reporter. He said he immediately found out the address of Stuart Lubbock's mother and went to see her wearing a dark blue suit as he would look like a policeman. When she answered the door he said that he was investigating Stuart's death so she asked him in. When she asked him if he was with the police he had to say no he was reporter she showed him out He was a disgusting individual IMO
