Mr Smow is one of those lucky people that can put his head on the pillow and be asleep literally within 2 minutes and stay asleep for 8/10 hours, whereas I suffer from severe insomnia. I just lay there, despite trying everything.
What’s made it worse is that he’s started snoring really badly. He’s always snored slightly but this is off the scale! Does anyone have any tried and tested remedies that help snoring? ( apart from putting a pillow over his face!!)
I’m completely shattered!! #prettyplease

I wish I had a spare room :-(

Not because he snores....just prefer having the bed to myself.

Omg I went and slept in spare room at about midnight - I’ve just woken up!! Haven’t slept that long in about 6 years!
You finally found a cure for insomnia.
Well done!!!!!!!

Divorce!! Lol only joking. Can’t believe sleeping in a separate room has made such a difference.
Have you tried ear plugs smow?
A room for fun, doesn't matter which room.
A room for catching zzzzzzzz's
Does work,
Question Author
No cant wear ear plugs - drive me mad lol.
1ozzy - that did make me laugh lol. (And guess it’s true! Doesn’t matter where you’re asleep - you’re asleep!)
There are different types of earplugs smow.
Smowball; I came late to this thread & having read the OP was about to recommend separate rooms, then saw it was the first answer, reiterated several times after.
You seem to have acted on this advice which has worked, - a triumph for AB !!!
After more good night's sleeps I think you will find an improved feeling of well-being. Let's all hope so. :0)

Thankyou Khandro. The funny thing is that having been up about 1.5 hrs now I’ve just sneaked into our actual bed where he was sleeping to give him a cuddle, and he hadn’t even realised I’d slept in the spare room all night! Hilarious!
I am surprised Sqad has not contributed to this thread. Is he ok ? I haven't seen any comments from him for a while.
Sam sqad is currently in hospital.
Oh dear, I didn't know that. I hope he is ok.
I add my best wishes to sqad. Mr. J2 and I manage to stay in the same bed much more easily since he became deaf! I apparently snore for about half an hour before going into deep sleep - but he can't hear that now. It may be me quitting the marital bed because if he gets on his back.... well.... doodlebugs have nothing on it. He does have a heart condition so when he stops breathing it is quite alarming. I lie there breathing normally and when I reach a count of 5 I elbow him in the ribs and get muttered at. Getting quite used to sleeping in bits, but I feel the cold and he's nice and warm...….
My husband is like a radiator and he moves a lot. I sleep much better without him.

I feel I’ve upset Barmaid. If so, I’m very sorry and it was not intentional. I agree with everything you’ve said here, Barmaid.
You haven't upset me at all, Clover!
