I’ve been clearing out a kitchen drawer and I’ve just found a cheque for £100 to my son which was an Xmas present- 10 years ago!!! God knows how I missed paying it to the bank - guess it’s completely useless now!

Well you still have the money in theory so could write another one. But if he's forgotten then you could just leave well alone
You can ask the drawer to issue a replacement cheque as the original would be out of date after 6 months (although in my banking days, an initialled alteration to the date, by the drawer, would have been acceptable).

lol i presume you mean the drawer of the cheque, not the kitchen drawer (as i first read it)
