Scanned all shopping and put into bags

Went to the scan and go check out to pay and the damn hand held scanner decided to die

So had to unpack all items and go to a manned checkout to pay

I could squash a grape !!!!

What the Dickens are you on about
Isn't it a good thing to grouse about that
then ?

In any event my slight annoyance was because the thing died at the payment point

If to start with , none of the scanners were working , that would not have bothered me
I would have proceeded to chuck the stuff in the trolley and then proceed to a manned checkout ( note- not to the self check out )
