Albert pierrepoint pub ' Help the poor struggler '

Can anyone provide a link to a picture of the pub. I have been trying to find a picture on the web, but haven't had any luck!

Hi smiffy - Thanks for that information. I am still searching for an image of his pub. I may have to buy his autobiography, just seen it for sale on ebay. I can't believe I can't find one picture of the above pub on the whole of the web!!! Watched the dvd tonight and the area where the pub was situated ( Hollinwood ) is quite near to me so I was really curious. Thanks for your response anyway!

I have a close up photo of the front of "The Struggler" stored on my computer. It's so close that you can read Albert's name over the door! I haven't a clue though how to send it on to others. If only I knew how.....
My first job after leaving school in 1952 was with the brewery (Groves and Whitnall Ltd) who owned Albert's pub, and at the time he was negotiating a change of pub. In due course he was offered and took the tenacy of "The Rose and Crown" at Much Hoole. He remained at this pub until his retirement. During my time at the brewery I met Mr. Pierrepoint several times and I found him to be an extremely affable and friendly guy. A classic personable pub landlord as nice as any you could ever hope to meet!

Picture here - http://www.closedpubs.co.uk/lancashire/oldham_helppoorstruggler.html - I've used Google Maps to try and find a building matching its description, but it looks to me like it has been demolished. There is one pub much further up the road which looks like it might have been similar, but it's between Copster Hill and Featherstall... so it looks like that pub might have been lost.
