I really have a problem with croissants, the number of times I've asked OH if he fancies courgettes for breakfast! It's got so bad he now has a problem with it too.
It's amazing though the number of times I can't think of a word I want and I ask him and he can't think of it too.
It's catching!

oh all my life!
I always say oysters when I mean olives, and vice versa.
Yeah... I start clicking my fingers... like I'm on a game show like countdown... whilst muttering Oh what's the word... Click, click, click... I'm sure it must be annoying for the company I'm with.
My wife cannot pronounce the word ornament, so I don’t buy her any.
All the time! Most annoying.
Reminds me of my granny going through the names of all of her grandchildren until she got to the right one.
Why don't you take the easy way out? Simply start serving your hubby courgettes for breakfast!

Probably not the same thing but I have reached that age where I will be saying something and my mind goes blank and I know what I want to say but I cannot find the word and it can take 5 / 10 mins before it comes to me. I try to make light of it but i think to myself Oh dear .
I've noticed that saying thingummy, wotsit, doodah, och - that thingy, have been increasing in usage.

Best thing to do when using the completely wrong word is keeping a sense of humour

We must have had the same granny, jo.
Hmmmmm Hmmmm Hmmm Hmmmm Get back later.
Lol, My Mum does that... going through Bro's names until she gets to mine... but I've often wondered who, Sid, Fred and Benjy... are? they always seem to get a mention before me, and they're not names of my Bro's.
^^^^^^
Mmmmmm ( don't ask questions, Arky ).
The next time she does it.. I'm going to :-)
Sid, Fred and Benjy are names of the previous pets.

My sons knew I was on the sloping end of doolally when I started saying Lucy when telling them their dinner was ready.
Quite often... :-)
