Following the voting that took place last Thursday , why is it taking so long before the results are published ?

They have to wait until the polls close across Europe before counting begins
I wondered that but apparently they won't start counting until Sunday evening, presumably to fit in with when they vote in the rest of Europe.
Because the polls in some parts of Europe do not close until Sunday.
It’s also why we have not had an exit poll yet, although there’s been one in the Netherlands I see
Shouldn't think there'll be much counting in britain!!
Many council areas in England are reporting turnout UP.
Turnout in N Ireland was 6% down on 2014
roslyn, I think that you may be surprised.The Brexit situation seems to have galvanised a lot of people into action.

if they can hold Eurovision all on the same day, even with Australia...
Count out tomorrow
I voted at 12 midday and it was virtually empty....

the last time I voted there was an armed policeman !
and I sort of went eek - and made to fall off my high heels and so on - squealing
and it then became obvious he just fancied one of the clerks

honestly sex everywhere ....

Eurovision isnt a matter of life and death - it is much more important than that ( words changed from a football mgr about footie)
When I voted the box was full, had a real problem squeezing my yard of paper through the slot.
