This might seem a daft question but did we have to register specifically for the EU elections or does the fact we are registered already count?

I think you only need to register generally. Have you received a poll card for the European Elections?
If you’re registered to vote you can vote in all elections in your area.
If your card has gone missing in the post you can still turn up and vote.

Thank goodness for that.

I haven’t had my card yet and I had this sinking feeling I should perhaps have registered again.

Just in case, I'd suggest contacting your local Electoral Registration Office.

My card arrived ages ago, so I suggest you contact your local authority.
