Having a few issues, only used to stand alone pcs. How do you get, say, Google, to be on the page when you open up the pc. Also, to see how much battery-time is left. and I've tried to connect my printer, but it won't do it. shows me a list of Epson printers but I can't see mine, I thought it might connect automatically. than for any help.

You've not told us which version of Windows your laptop is running. I'll assume that it's new though (rather than secondhand or reconditioned), so it will be Windows 10 that you need instructions for.

If you want to see, say, Google when you start your laptop, you'll need to tell it to automatically open your chosen browser (Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc). This link will take you to a video which explains how to do that:
https://tinyurl.com/y6fqc2zz

If your chosen browser isn't already configured to use Google (or whatever) as its home page, you'll also need to tell it to use Google (or whatever else you like, such as The Answerbank) for that purpose. If you don't know how to do that please ask again, ensuring that you tell us which browser you use.

There should be a battery icon on the taskbar at the foot of your laptop's screen. Clicking on it will show you an estimate of how much time is left. (If the icon has gone missing, follow these instructions to get it back: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/restore-missing-battery-icon-windows-10 ).

Computers don't connect directly to printers unless you use an Ethernet cable. With wi-fi they connect to a user's router which, in turn, connects to the printer. So the first thing you need to do is to install the driver for your printer onto your laptop. (If you're not sure how, please tell us the exact model of your Epsom printer and confirm which version of Windows you're using). Then, if you've not already done so, you need to ensure that both your laptop and your printer can connect wirelessly to your router.
I assume you're now working on a Laptop?

You'd have to go through the settings in your Web Browser (Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Chrome etc.) to get Google as your homepage.

For Microsoft Edge, when you launch it, there should be three horizontal dots on the top right of the page. Click on that and go down to Settings. It should then say Choose a theme and underneath that it should say Open Microsoft Edge with

Start page
New tab
Previous pages
a specific page or pages

Underneath that there should be a box to enter the url (The https://www bit from the top of the page). Enter

https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl

With regards to the battery life, there should be an indicator on the Toolbar at the bottom of the screen, that should look like a Battery. Either hover your Cursor over itand it should say how long is left in the Battery, or click on it and you should get a little dialog box open on the Screen with all the details on it.
My laptop an iPad shows battery life left. As for connecting to printer I use other laptop using windows 7 , my preferred version and a copy of works, and finds printer wirelessly and prints.
