Stilton?
Not sure ....Port Talbot in Wales...

maybe Tilbury in Essex, for England
Or Fartown (in Huddersfield). I do apologise for my flippancy, Goodsoulette, and hope you get some sensible answers. But I rather believe there will be a torrent of "humorous" answers flowing this way and I may be responsible for initiating the deluge.

I doubted I would get a serious answer its just a drunken internet moment, but thanks for the answers xx
Burton on Trent stinks.x
Okay, let's have a stab at a serious answer. One of the towns with a large chemical industry, such as Runcorn or Redcar?. Incidentally, why Bridgwater?
Mine was a serious answer. Burton on Trent smalls of yeast. This is due to the breweries and the Marmite factory. It smells bad.x
*smells*
Pratts bottom in kent
Pratts bottom in kent (I know it's a village)
I live near bridgwater admitidly it did use to smell rather awfull but since the cellophane factory has shut down it no longer smells honest
i was going to say Burton on Trent too - theres the pong of beer, marmite and branston pickle and if the wind is blowing theres the stink of burnt coffee beans from the nescafe factory in tutubury
Barking, Essex or Bection, London - both are within vomiting distance of the Thames Water Sewage Treatment Works, lovely for a drive in your convertible on a sunny afternoon.
Llanybydder, Ceredigion, Wales ...has a massive slaughterhouse ..it always smells of death and rotting animals ...have to hold your breath for 5 minutes when driving through there.
Hull. Lots of fish. Smells like a tart's f*nny.
I'm off to hull !!!! what about Grimsby?that any better, that used to honk something chronic !!!
janetsflower, I love the idea of "Tutubury" - I have a mental image of everyone wearing little frilly gauzy skirts...........(actually, having been to Tutbury the magic begins to fade........!)
I grew up near Exeter, and there was a crap old joke with the punchline, " [woman] 'I want you to kiss me where it smells...'. [man] 'What? I'm not taking you all the way to Bridgewater just to kiss you!'"

Obviously, it's a regional joke....but driving past Bridgewater on the M5 would fill the car with noxious fumes.

I always thought it was a sewage plant situated near the M5. But maybe that cellophane factory was genuinely a stinker!
Worthing stinks of rotting seaweed...
