Had to be up at 5.15 am as OH had hospital appointment for his skin graft.
They took a piece of skin from his forehead, folded it over and stitched over his missing nose. They did talk about removing his whole nose this morning and giving him a prosethic one. But decided that he could get away with a graft. He looks a bit of a mess, he looks like he has been attacked by someone with a Stanley knife. With a big scar all down his forehead and all over his nose. BUT, he will get better, his scars will heal and life will go on.

And we didn't get home until 7.30 pm tonight!
Blimey I'm surprised that he is out the same day, Caran.
I'm sure the scars will heal in time, and has you say life will go on.

They did debate him staying in overnight but he persuaded them he could come home.
Blimey. I hope there's no complications.

Can I ask what was wrong?
I can understand him wanting to be at home, no body wants to be in hospital do they.
Last time I was in I didn't want to come home. I knew I'd be sent home with no morphine...
Did they give you any type of substitute though, ummmm ?
I don't know what they gave me. I woke up crossed legged on the sofa dribbling down my top :-)
LOL, it worked then.
Thanks Jo, sounds awful. So sorry Caran x
Welcome :)
So sorry to hear Caran, get some rest and much love to you both x
Hope things settle for him soon Caran, as you say - onward you go.

Best wishes to you both.x
I hope Mr Caran's recovery is comfortable & speedy - my best wishes to you both.
Really will look a lot better within about three months, two years and just a bit f uneven skin tone. If it bothers him ask to see a camouflage make up specialist, once it's properly healed.
will heal in time, but not pleasant for him..best wishes for a speedy recovery xx
Oh my goodness, Caran. Best wishes to you and Mr Caran. What a thing to go through.
