Checking on a DPD coming delivery, and the time-band was 0600 to 1200!

That’s six a.m.

On querying it, I was told that was the time they started delivering. Not round here it isn’t!

0600 is the time that at least some of their vans leave the depot. They might, say, have a depot in Nottingham which covers an area up towards Sheffield. So the driver heads non-stop up to Sheffield and then starts working his way back, making deliveries as he goes. So, while the nominal start time for deliveries is 0600, the first deliveries aren't actually made until around 0700. (I've received a DPD delivery at just after 7am).

Yes but I live in the civilised South, Chris.
I live in the south too, BB - although it has to be said that I'm not too far from the Norfolk border, so it's not entirely civilised here in East Anglia ;-)

Ah, North Walsham, historic homelands of the Bainbrigs. Perhaps we’re related (like much of Norfolk).
When I get a delivery from DPD I always get two e-mails and two texts. The first one says what day it will arrive, the second one gives me an hour time slot. Very useful to know when it is coming.
