I did not understand that question about where to put the comma. The beast used faith hope charity as explanation ??? Anyone ???

Oxford comma Faith, Hope, and Charity. You wouldn't normally put the comma after Hope in this case. Why it is there I don't know.
when a comma is used to separate a list the last item is preceeded by "and" and no comma. eg Apples, Pears and Oranges.
I think the Oxford comma is common in the States too.
Missing the final comma can get confusing when the list items contain "and" - for example Fish and Chips, Sausage and Mash and Bacon and Eggs.

The Oxford (or serial) comma is the final comma in a list of things. For example:

Please bring me a pencil, eraser, and notebook.
The Oxford comma comes right after eraser.

Use of the Oxford comma is stylistic, meaning that some style guides demand its use while others don’t. AP Style—the style guide that newspaper reporters adhere to—does not require the use of the Oxford comma. The sentence above written in AP style would look like this:

Ex Please bring me a pencil, eraser and notebook.
