Gang culture is all about what young people perceive as 'respect', and for some, that means carrying a weapon.

The problem with carrying knives in the UK is exactly the same as the problem with carrying guns in America - if you are carrying a weapon, when things escalate, they enter a whole new thought process.

As I understand it, there is a distinction in law between killing someone with intent, and killing someone without intent, and the two charges reflect the circumstances in an individual situation.
