I wish I'd got to vote on how long my holidays would be. You wouldn't have minded paying for an extra week for me, I feel sure.
Unfair indeed. I can remember my office policy of only 2 people off in any given week!!!
Lazy? I wouldn't want an MP's job.
They still have constituency work. I am sure some swan off for a long break but many MPs work very long hours helping/fighting causes for individual constituents via daytime and evening surgeries
Exactly. They can't be classed as lazy.

the MPs in the glorious Labour victory of 1964
doubled their own pay didnt they?

(to be fair hahahahaha you couldnt live on the whack they gave the MPs and none of the Tories did ! har har har har)
Lazy? Possibly not. Greedy, deceitful, lying, self-promoting, clueless? Most certainly.

o god if you keep this up I will start crying at the lot of those poor MPs - glorious talking shop, do nothing, opportunites to back-stab, self glorify and turn a profit, good severance package (no one wants to employ an unseated MP apparently - altho MP --> Lord is OK, shows ability to vote as directed) - glorious tenure adjusted pension - boohoo MPs arent Mps long enought to build up a decent length of service so they give it to them(selves) anyway!)

Lord love us - let us hear it for the MPs
Thanks, PP, i'd forgotten 'backstabbing'. :-)
The reason for them finishing work a week earlier is for Theresa May’s survival.
If 48 MPs write letters of no confidence in the Prime Minister, a vote has to take place in parliament.
By bringing their holiday farward a week to this Thursday, it will mean a no confidence vote cannot take place until September at the earliest.

What a way to run a Government. It is like playing truant to avoid the school bully.

always on hand to supply insulting epithets on demand, Sir
I suppose that means that the EU can wait until September before they inspect May's package and come to a decision.
PP for PM! :o)
