thanks pink but no there usless and as long a im not in pain and bleeding to death they dont give a toss. I'm having a 'everything happens to me year' it was all good with new hubby etc and now this. and it's my last chance im not trying anymore after this and all they say when i go up the hospital is oh well try again when i have told them im not putting myself through it again. god im a winger but arent we paying the NHS to be sympathetic to there patients?
I know a few women over on the ivillage boards who bled for long periods of time during their pregnancies and have healthy babies.
You really need to wait for a second scan. As you said in a previous post they think dates of conception are wrong in which case they will wait to scan a few days later.
try the ivillage boards. heres a list of the pregnancy ones. The ones for you are probably the pregnancy after loss and the pregnancy complications. The women on these boards are great.

thanks your all lovely.
Does your local maternity unit have an assessment unit - my sister had some problmes at the begining of her pregnancy (shes 22wks now) and was refered to an early pregnancy assessment unit who were able to do extra scans, blood tests etc - I don't know if all hspitals have these, I know the one I had my son at didn't.

Hope this helps

A xXx
I agree with Petes_D. I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks, and then another one. On my third attempt, I was feeling very panicky (no signs of miscarriage, just terrified!) so I rang my GP and he referred me to the Early Pregnancy unit on a Sunday - they were WONDERFUL - and I now have a beautiful 7 year old son to show for my trouble!!

If this does turn out to be a blighted ovum, I'd not rush to make a decision about whether or not to try again. I had the very same thing, and went on to have two successful pregnancies afterwards.

Sending lots of love and good luck. x
P.S I agree with your comment about lack of sympathy from some nurses and modwives. After my miscarriage, I was told it was probably because I'd fallen pregnant too soon after my first baby (she was 10 months old at the time).

Talk about making me feel guilty, I felt as if the miscarriage were all my own fault.

Luckily, my GP was more understanding and reassured me that it was just an unfortunate thing and there was no reason why it should happen again.

If you can't get any sense from the people you see on the wards at the hospital, ask if they have a counselling service - ours did, and it can be very helpful to talk to someone who has time to listen to you, explain what's going on, and just understand what you're going through.

Good luck again. x

Thank you for your lovely responses we do have an early assessment unit but they are the ones that are useless. I explained when i started spotting again that I had miscarried at 16wks and they didnt say anything at all. That for me was enough but i have already decided enough is enough if this one has gone. If no luck after Friday i may go to my GP as I've had enough of it. when I went for my scan last week the u/s lady said they would do a blood test to check my hormones but when they gave me my appoinment card i told them i was waiting for a blood test and all they said was ' i spoke to the doctor and they said not to bother' makes you feel like your just whining all the time. I dont believe anyone there has ever lost a baby and therefore cannot understand what crap we have to go through to get the care and attention needed. I even asked my midwife to treat me like a first time mum again as i was nervous and she said they wont look after me until ive had 2 or 3 miscarriages. nice huh!!
Try contacting your local National Childbirth Trust - they can usually put you on to Doctor or someone more sympathetic.

Hope all goes well.
how did the scan go? is all ok?
Spanner - are you ok?? I know you had your scan today.Just please let us know that you are alright?xx
