Friend called round yesterday and she is not remotely interested in anything internetty. However she has fallen in love with Alexa and stated that the Alexa is now only £35. Is that correct.

While I'm on - what is the difference between Alexa and Echo - thanks

Yet another bugging device!
It's not just about listening in though - on panorama their IT guy sat in front of the couple, hacked into their router and apart from the 'fun' of opening their curtains and turning their lights on (how lazy can you get) he ordered an ipad. It wasn't just Alexa devices it was also security cameras and those that watch your pets and babies. One very ordinary couple were told that their in-house cameras had been viewed online over 9000 times from all over the world. Somebody in France had watched them for 9 hours.
I can get all the news and music and weather I want already thanks.
The people whose security cams get hacked are those who either don’t change their wifi password or don’t set one and don’t change or set their security cam passwords.
Exactly it was all about passwords and millions don't
Just a gimmick that most people will use for a few weeks, then it will become annoying, then it will be switched off, then it will end up in the back of a cupboard, never to be seen again.
I've got Alexa on my kindle and on my firestick. She's really handy when I want her to play music or select a particular channel or something. She's also hilarious if you swear at her.
Alexa on the Amazon tablets isn't always "switched on and listening"...you have to touch a screen icon to enable the Alexa function.
Alex's doesn't work in Greece.
Must be Greek ;-))
Lol...and live in an unfinished house to avoid tax.
To go off on a tangent
Lost my reply ...
As I was saying ;
Ummmm - Is that still the case in Greece with tax on unfinished buildings ?

We haven't holidayed in Greece for 15 years now.
Used to go a few times a year once and remember the buildings with reinforce I guess bars poking out tops , to indicate not completed.
