I've heard much worse on that programme!
Probably because kids might hear, more than anything..
To be a "swear word" a word must be rude or offensive. Aside from the fact that anyone can find anything offensive (which would make every word a swear word) "bloody" clearly no longer fulfills either condition, so it can't be a "swear word" any longer.
I think it is a swear word - if a swear word is an expletive, which I consider it is. It is, however, a minor one. Having said that, any intrusion into language and standards is likely to lead on to the next level down. Sort of 'swear creep' if you see what I mean.
Of course it’s a swear word. One can swear without necessarily being offensive. The argument here is about the offence threshold, not whether it’s swearing
