She told me that she was given a tresspassing document and told not to go back in any of their shops. When I asked what happened she said that she had been to the hairdressers and been in there 2 hours and had had nothing to eat. Wrongly she picked up some fruit meaning to go to the till and pay for it and forgot and started eating it. She is in here late 80's and gets confused at times. They took her to an office and questioned her, said they wouldnt call the police. She is very shaken up. They got her details and got her to sign a paper saying she was tresspassing in M and S. They said it would go no further but she said how will they know her will they have taken a photo ?

Thanks gness good idea x
It does seem a shame that we have had 120 posts on this and still no help for the lady in question. Do we know the location of the M&S because there might be someone here living nearby who would be willing to help.
Even if a third party did step in to help her and she got a written apology, a bunch of flowers and vouchers - would she ever want to set foot inside any M&S again?
Perhaps not, Hc......but an apology for the trespassing document instead of perhaps a kind word at the time might ease her mind a little....

I never set foot in a Safeway after being hauled back from the car park and accused of stealing $100 worth of groceries.....and the trolley...
Luckily the folk behind me in the queue saw me pay the distracted till girl with two $50 notes and it was soon sorted......with an apology from the manager....but very embarrassing at the time.....x
Would M&S even discuss the matter with a third party?

I doubt they would tbh
gness - didn't you have a till receipt then ?
I did, Baz......but the guy who came after me didn't want to look....it was a huge supermarket and he'd attracted lots of attention running the width of the store inside....and across the carpark.....hero of the day attitude I think....
By the time he got to me everyone was watching....
The lass on the till had been chatting to a friend standing nearby as she was serving, paying little attention to customers.....maybe she wasn't used to cash.....away in another world...I don't know what triggered her.....
I had a receipt..there were two $50 notes in the till.....and the lady behind insisted she saw me hand them over and being given some cents
in change....she was more cross than I was....
The till girl ended up in tears....lord knows why....x
It's awful this has happened to your poor neighbour, bless her.....

I would do, what I normally do, if getting no help and assistance from any staff in customer services of a company....go straight to the top.

I have contacted the CEO of M&S over a certain matter and they dealt with it accordingly in my favour...because they listened to me.

The CEO in M&S Executive Officer is Mr Steve Rowe.....his Email address is
[email protected]

Her query might be dealt with by one of Mr Rowe's Executive associates, but he will definitely see it first.

I wish your dear neighbour all my best wishes to finally get this sorted out with a sympathetic view tamaris x
