My daughter called me over to her house this morning. Her dear little 2 year old cat had not come back from being let out very early this morning. To make it worse, she read on local fb a little deceased black cat was seen on side of grass verge along side busy road! We went to look but couldnt see her. We felt so sad all day.
Tonight about 8.00pm, she messaged me to say she came home!! She seemed very subdued. I'm wondering if she got shut in shed or garage somewhere. What a relief! Sad for the other little cat and owners though...

I live in a city centre so my cats are indoor cats, it is not ideal but it is all they have known.

It must been such a worry for your daughter, her cat wasn't gone long but it sounds as if it was unusual for her cat to stray far.

They are small and vulnerable out in the big, bad world. Maybe puss will have learned a lesson - but I doubt it.

I'm glad that your daughter has got her cat back, Patsy, and it must be such a relief for her too x Shame about the cat who died though and just hope it was quick and painless for the little mite.

Thank you Wolf and Yogi. We live in a village but have busy roads nearby. She's keeping her in! x
Such a worry..pleased there was a happy ending...make sure kitty is chipped !

She is chipped Minty. It's hard when you love your pets so much... So so relieved. X
I'm wondering if she got shut in shed or garage somewhere.

I suspect that your right about that, Patsy.

Their nosy little git's, they see a garage / shed door open and in they go to investigate. Owner of garage / shed doesn't know that they have a cat burglar and shuts the door.
One of our cats ( RIP Tommy ) years ago was always getting shut in the garage at an house over the road from us ( why do they never learn ).

Glad your daughters cat has returned, Patsy.

Thanks Spathi.
We were fearing the worst all day. She usually comes back at certain times for food or sleep. Was most unusual for her not to show a face! Then when we read about poor little cat being found deceased on grass verge... well.... I'm going to see her later and give her the biggest cuddle!
So sorry your beloved cat is no longer with you.xx
So glad the little puss is ok, but like you say, very sad about the other one. My sweet little cat Sophie vanished in 2006 and never came back, so I know that pain.

hereIam, I think that's worse. The not knowing. My sister experienced the Sam a couple of years ago. Hers was 10 years old. He was a sweet boy...
so sorry about the other little kitty.

Am glad all turned out well Patsy.

Our kitty went out one Sunday and returned on Wednesday afternoon, I was just about to print out leaflets etc.
He came sauntering in without a care in the world but slept til dinner-time :-)
