//Can I bring life jackets?
Yes, the US HotTug is standard equipped with a waterproof space, which is sealed with an aluminum hatch. In this space you can put an anchor, life jackets etc.//
So whether the UK ones have they in there I don't know, ask them tomorrow.
The name sounds a bit Stringfellowish but it looks like a good idea. Exactly how much time you have to put on your life jacket and your oxygen mask and follow the lights to the exit doors when your tub overturns, I don't know.
I didn’t see one life jacket or liferaft on the tugboat in mamyas link.
Do they allow people with no sailing experience to pilot the boat I wonder? No life jackets and possibly accidents possibly leading to an overturned boat possibly leading to death sounds like a lawsuit imo but would the company owners overlook basic health and safety?
//Your experience lasts for 90 minutes with 75 minutes of time in the fresh water which is changed after every trip. After a greeting by one of our captains who will run through a safety and instructional demonstration, you will then have 75 minutes sailing time on the water. An amazing chance to relax and unwind. //
“caveat emptor
ˌkavɪat ˈɛmptɔː/Submit
noun
the principle that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made.
"caveat emptor still applies when you are buying your house"
Mamya does this mean the the owners are responsible or that those that have rented it are responsible?
Eddie who is obviously well versed in law, namely marine laws said “Answer
All passenger boats ,from small pleasure launches to huge cruise ships MUST have a lifejacket for each passenger. It's a marine transport law.”
It doesn't need to be "seaworthy" as it can only be on a very limited stretch of the canal - you cannot go through a lock. It is stable and safe and you don't need a life jacket. You can do an evening cruise.
The canal's quite wide in places but it appears to be only 3-4ft deep, so no great risk. All the same, any non-swimmers given to panicking might think twice about cruising in it,
