I very much doubt one of the main causes of fly tipping will be addressed?

And maybe if we didnt adopt the daft EU policies on Landfill Councils could take our rubbish ?

most of it is low life itinerant scum.
We have a problem here in my town, with fly tippers....mostly builders, from what I have seen of the stuff lying around in lanes and on the common.

The answer is for the Councils to be more vigilant, not less. All the stuff that is dumped could just as easily be accepted into council sites, or could be collected properly.

I recently had 2 big fridge-freezers, plus a mattress collected by the Council, for 17:00, which I shared with 2 neighbours. I can't see any reason why everybody else can't do the same.
The big pain is when the lane hasn't been adopted by the council and one has to cope with the rubbish the trash has dumped, oneself: knowing others can leave it to the council.
Round here they are already taken to court if they use a flytipper. It counts as fltipping yourself even if you believed the person you employed had a licence. Its the householder’s responsibilty to check
Mikey, my council charge more than that. Its still worth it but not cheap
Woofy....I would imagine that charges vary across the country. But in the case of builders, then any charge would need to be passed on to their customers.
Have to have proof who the offender is first.
OG...a difficult this to prove, I will agree.
Its amazing how often people fly tip stuff that has identifiable stuff in.....like boxes that stuff was delivered in with their address on. I have used a licenced refuse transporter to take stuff away for me and he is actually cheaper than the council, also he will take stuff that my council won’t collect and that wouldn’t fit in my car.

Just because it is building rubble does not mean it is builders!

Unscrupulous refuse collectors often offer to take rubbish cheaply, I have had it many times but always refuse. It must be very tempting to some DIYers given the cost of a skip is so high due to the massive landfill taxation.

And then of course there are our travelling friends. Will they be dealt with or will it just be the little confused old lady taken for a ride who has her couple of boxes fly tipped and easily traceable and hounded for the fine?
