We are having a Burns Night supper at our club. Our local butcher has arranged to cook the haggis neaps and tatties for us. It will be layered with the potato on top so easy for slicing. What bothers me is that I have been told we do not need other vegetables as this will be enough. I do not wish to upset our Scottish friends so is it ok to serve it without any other vegetables ?

Haggis with neeps and tatties is the only, traditional, way to serve this traditional dish.
You don't need other vegetables, but what on earth do you mean by "It will be layered with the potato on top"?
Och, aye.

I do think you’re rather cruel tho. All those poor Haggis, just bred for Burns night and then slaughtered.
Some kind of haggis abomination going on here. The puir wee beasties have died in vain as tradition is appropriated and altered to suit, just like the mung bean.
My neighbour would spend all his days walking around reciting Scottish poetry, we had him confined to the Burns Unit.
