Is there anything that can be done to make them taste nice?

Me and a friend was talking last night and ideas were try and stuff them with a nut when they’re par boiled, and boil them in a chilli gravy.

Has anyone tried chopping them and frying them?

Is there anything that can be done to them to make them palatable?

“Don't like 'em, don't eat 'em!”

Yes I’m sure all of your house guests enjoy your stance, where me personally try and make my soirées as comfortable and enjoyable for them as possible
sure, but you're under no obligation to serve your guests any particular food, and none of them is going to start writing to their MPs because you've failed to serve them sprouts. If they're not working out, why not serve something else instead?

Indeed, our House guests have a great time, I save the 'stance' for those who don't matter, but we will have to wait until next weekend for that as Family and guests are well spread out this weekend.
If you are doing it for guests then cook them they way they like them cooked.
The eye candy that hangs around with the annoying bald lad who does a 'how it's made' kind of programme as well as judging one of the many cookery shows was on a sprouts farm the other night eating the old style bitter ones and new improved sweeter ones raw and noticed a vast difference.

She has beautiful teeth.
I should declare an interest as a lifelong fan of the sprout.

Pumptastic fare.
I love sprouts for both the taste and texture. I just boil mine for 6 minutes and enjoy. Frozen sprouts are a different kettle of fish; they are vile.
Just boil them in their own kettle, it'll go swimmingly.

Ewww a fishy kettle, that reminds me of when a friends gas weren’t working he had the great idea of cooking boil in the bag kippers in the kettle instead of cooking in the microwave, anyway the bag split and he never knew until he made us tea.

Have you ever heard 3 people spit out tea simultaneously?

Have you ever tasted fishy kippery tea? Bloody disgusting and put one of my friends off tea for life.
Love sprouts. Quite happy to eat them steamed or will cut in half, bar boil and then shallow fry with bacon and a splash of balsamic vinegar.
I love sprouts. For those who don't, drinking red wine with the meal helps neutralise the perceived bitterness. According to a study by some university. Reported in The Telegraph this week.
Ah, I see it's not the bitterness that bothers you - they taste like dishwater. You're overcooking them. They only need a few minutes of steaming, and don't cut a cross in the bottom.

I'm having frozen sprouts for the first time. Wish I'd bought fresh ones now.
i love sprouts but have to carry a can of fabreeze with me when I eat them as they have a side effect lol
I always buy sprouts on the vine. Stand the vine in water and the sprouts are always fresh and delicious. You can eat them raw then. They only taste horrible when they are old.

I’ve only tasted the frozen ones, seems that maybe the problem, when I eat peas I always add sugar to make them sweet, maybe I’ll yr that with fresh sprouts after gauging their sweetness without
Actually I have a confession to make !

I had about 6 sprouts with my Xmas Lunch, and they were really rather nice !.....this is very different from the language I have used over the years in describing sprouts, like the Devils Food !

Mea Culpa !
I was going to sauté my frozen and steamed sprouts with bacon, but with everything else I had to do I didn't bother so served them just steamed. They were the only veg that everyone wolfed down.
My favourite vegetable. Boil for 15mins, drain & eat. Beautiful.
